Santa's new jument

In this ad Santa seems to have replaced his reendeers with the purple cow.

  1. Buna! :-)
Do you "traditionally" have santa claus (babo natale, père Noël or call it what you want…) in Romania? for example, in Greece we have Saint Basile/Άγιος Βασίλης, celebrated on the 1st of January: he is the one who offer gifts to children.
But because of globalisation, he is represented as santa claus in ads, TV &c.

  2. γεια! In Romanian Mos Craciun, pronounced [mosh kra'choon] (Oldman Christmas), is the one who offer gifts to children and adults as well. We also have the Sfant Vasile on January the 1st, but he has no gifts; in fact, in the traditional folklore we have no specific figure offering gifts. Fortunately, as you supposed, the globalized Santa Claus helped us a lot :-)
