Paragini heraldice

Derelict historic building found in a hallway to an inner courtyard, in Unirii Square.
The heraldic description above the door reads "Virtutis comes invidia" (Envy is the companion of virtue), and apparently dates from 1597.

Magazinul Central renovat

The Central Shopping Center was recently renovated and they added a copper net texture to some surfaces of the building. Also, some old pictures of the city were displayed behind mannequins in the windows.

Centrul de Cultură Urbană

Bastionul Croitorilor al Clujului medieval a fost renovat și inaugurat zilele trecute drept Centru de Cultură Urbană.

Panou informativ cu o Hartă de arhitectură clujeană pe zidul fostei fortificații. Săgețile roșii de la baza panoului au fost "semnele" Zilelor Arhitecturii - ocazie cu care s-a inaugurat refacerea acestui monument.

Medieval Tailors' Bastion was renovated and reopened for public as Center for Urban Culture these days, with the occasion of Architecture Days. It will be dedicated to a permanent exhibition documenting the city's history, temporary exhibitions of urban arts, and conferences.

În oglindă

Capătul străzii Iuliu Maniu, numită și "strada în oglindă", datorită clădirilor identice (de fapt numai aceste două clădiri de la intrarea dinspre Piața Unirii sunt identice). Din păcate nici acestea nu mai arată la fel, de ceva timp, de când fostul CEC (pe stânga) a rămas în paragină, iar cladirea din dreapta s-a renovat și aici își au locul acum sedii de bănci și telefonie mobila. Din fericire, clădirea dezafectată din stânga a fost integrată spațiului urban prin panouri cu fotografii cu "Clujul vechi", care acoperă vechile ferestre. Acestea, într-un fel, "oglindesc" orașul.


Entry to Iuliu Maniu street, called "street in the mirror" because the buildings are identical (in fact only these two buildings at the entrance from the Unirii Square are identical). Unfortunately, they do not longer look the same, for some time, since the former CEC (State Savings House) (left) remained derelict and the building on the right was renovated and came to host banks and telephony headquarters. The deteriorated building on the left was cleverly integrated into the urban space by some photos depicting "the old Cluj”, covering the former windows. Thus they are somehow 'mirroring' the city.
